Character Rumor: King Boo's Advantage in Drafting

Hey guys! This is officially our first post in Mario Kart Rumors. We will try to keep you up to date with our ongoing research on Mario Kart Wii character attributes, interesting things about the behavior of items and facts of the different racing tracks out there. We will of course continue with Mario Kart Wii U, as soon as it's out!

For a while now, we had the feeling that King Boo is able to draft quicker than other characters. And I would even go as far as stating that it takes longer to draft behind him. Now I think I found the scientific facts to back this up: The following figure shows some basic shapes and their drag coefficients.

The one with the lowest aerodynamic drag is the streamlined body. While King Boo's shape does not match perfectly, he can adjust it while racing to be streamlined thanks to his ectoplasmic composition.
